Calling Occupants Of Interplanetary Craft - Klaatu

그냥 갑자기 생각나서 올리는 블로그. 티비에서 '응답하라 1998' 얘기가 나오길래.

행성간 여행선은 응답하라 - 번역하면 아마 이렇게 될 거야. 지구에 사는 누군가가 우주로 신호를 보내고, 또 우주의 누군가가 이에 응답하는 간단한 내용. Klaatu의 노래보다는 Carpenters의 노래로 더 알려져 있지만, Carpenters 버전의 노래는 원래의 의도를 잘 살리지 못하는 것 같아. 당연히 원곡을 추천.

약간 '은하계를 여행하는 히치하이커를 위한 안내서'같은 느낌도 나면서, 약간은 스팀펑크의 정서이기도 하고, (많은 사람들이 오해했듯이) 비틀즈같은 클래식한 결이기도 해. 항상 마이너한 정서이지만 절대로 소멸되지 않는 ... 그런 무언가의 정서.

1976년 노래이니 50년이 다 되어가지만, 여전히 독특한 지위를 갖는 그룹 - Klaatu에게 받은 (정서적) 은혜를 조금이라도 갚는 차원에서 작은 블로그 포스팅을 남겨.

그리고 2016년에 Behind the Vinyl이라는 유튜브 채널에서 드러머이자 서브보컬이었던 Terry Draper의 코멘터리.

젊었을 때는 상당히 미성이었는데 나이가 들으니 중후한 목소리가 됐어. 지금 목소리도 매력적이네.
